The Lifeline for Pain-Free Living

Joseph picked up the Denovo thumb brace about a year ago after discussing his ongoing hand pain with his orthopedic doctor. X-rays revealed mild arthritis at the base of his thumb, and his doctor suggested this brace as a way to delay surgery. He was hesitant at first because he wasn’t sure about the fit or the reliability of the velcro closures for daily use. However, after an injection didn’t provide much relief, he decided to give it a try, hoping it would help ease the discomfort he was experiencing.

For the past 11 months, Joseph has worn the Denovo brace every single day. Although he’s retired now, he’s deeply involved in a challenging wooden boat restoration project that demands a lot from his hands. The project involves a ton of physical activity, using power tools, hand tools, and heavy equipment, which requires a strong grip and a lot of manipulation. Every day, he’s lifting, pushing, pulling—pretty much any kind of grasping you can imagine. While there’s a bit of restriction in movement due to the brace, it allows him to keep working without major issues—even as he types this review on his computer.

His brace has certainly seen better days; it’s pretty worn out from all the use. The metal band is starting to break through the plastic base over time. Despite its battered appearance, it’s still effective! Joseph takes extra care when securing it to ensure it lasts as long as possible. He’s actually about to order a new one; even though his current brace still does the job, it’s looking pretty shabby. Overall, the Denovo thumb brace has truly been a lifesaver for him, allowing him to continue his passion for woodworking and live life with less pain. He’s grateful for this product, and he can’t wait to see what the new brace will bring!
